     The textblock had long since started loosing from its case and several pages were completely detached, tattered, or missing. The heavily calendared paper was not receptive to normal paste and tissue paper mending techniques: sections were exhaustively repaired and guarded with heat-set tissue and resewn onto thin tapes. The repaired textblock was given an extended lining then tucked back into its original case. ​
